urinal. Personal canvas cubby hole provided. Biodegradable stuff (cotton
clothing) will be discarded along the way. Shampoo & soap provided. There is
no laundry service, but, you will have time to do a little. White is a cool
color. Think light weight.

Jeans & sweatshirts NEVER dry. Smells, even mild ones, become laud on a
small boat in a couple of days. Egos & issues get even lauder. Try to be the
1st of your watch on deck & always ask Gib if he wants to drive whenever he
is topside. Suntan lotion is supplied.

Dave,

You advised wet wipes for head use (seems great idea) - I'm assuming they can't be flushed into boat system - so we need to bring personal "personal hygiene" seal-able trash bag?  Or am I missing something....
Thx Clive

Clive,
There should be a big plastic bag in the head to file stuff.  It then gets tied on the back.

The list seems general and I just wanted to clarify some stuff.  I inserted in the text:

the weight limit does not apply.  I will have 2 bags and a backpack.

Wool socks X3
Silk sock liners X2
Silk glove liners X2

Plastic male urinal nope, not for me, i hate these things.

urinal. Personal canvas cubby hole provided. Biodegradable stuff (cotton

Think light weight.

Dave,

Thanks. I didn't think it applied. Was going to ping you though, just to be sure I wasn't crazy. I get the feeling Gib may not have done the eastbound trip......

Clive
Is Gib sensitive to folks not wearing street-used shoes on the boat?  I'm considering wearing my wet/dry (draining) deck shoes on the plane & in Hawaii.  Any insight?
BTW, have you been able to finish all the jobs you had scheduled before departure?
Thx Clive

Clive,
I don't ever remember anything being said about walking down the dock and stepping on the boat.  Out of habit I tend to be aware of this and so are you.  I don't see an issue to your question.  I will de-boot as soon as I hit Kaneohe and then flip-flop.

I finished all the major work that I really wanted to get done and can leave with a clear head.  It all got invoiced and checks are coming in.

The good news is that I have work scheduled all the way to the Transpac in July.

4/14/11

I was not going to bring shorts but Gib's house has a small swimming pool with an attached hot tub in a wonderful setting.  The KYC also has a pool.

Dave

I am bringing slippers.  The floor will be wet from tracking in saltwater.  It makes socks get dirty really fast and they get wet.  It's nice to lounge below without shoes on.
Dave

4/15/11

Thanks for the weather info.  I will study it.

Also, thanks for the heads-up about the pool.  I had just decided not to take a swim suit.

Bill

Hey Guys,

As it stands right now the weather for your departure on Wednesday is very good with trades at 15.  I hope this holds for you.

See you soon.
    gib

Gib,

I think it would be a good idea for you to contact Bill Lee and the SC50 owners after we depart and let them know we are off to Long Beach.  It's a friendly way to say hello to the competition and let them know we are in the game.

Also, this would be a great opp for you to introduce the book idea.

I am bringing my laptop and I have a section for you and the crew to read so you won't be in the dark as much regarding what I am putting together.

dammitDave

Dave,

In theory my flight (AA29) lands 50mins before yours. I'll make my way over to Hawaiian Air baggage claim. If I'm not there call my cell - no answer will mean my flight is late. OK?

Clive
